Current Projects

Woodman/US 35 Interchange

This project now under construction consists of reconstructing this interchange including bridges over US 35 and the bike path. Its purpose is to help relieve congestion and bring the roadway and bridges up to current standards. This project is being funded with Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) Surface Transportation Program and Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) grants.

Estimated Time Line: August 2023 thru August 2024

Woodman Phase I – US 35 to Eastman

This 2025 project consists of totally reconstructing Woodman Drive from US 35 to Eastman Avenue. The new roadway will have a bikeway on the west side and a sidewalk on the east side. A new typical section will include curb and gutter at the pavement edge and a grass median. The roadway will also have lighting. This is the first phase of a four-phase project that begins at US 35 and ends at Springfield Street. Surface Transportation Program grant through the MVRPC is funding the majority this project. The local share will be funded from Gas and Motor Vehicle Taxes.

This project is set to go to bid in February 2025 and begin in April 2025.

ADA Ramp Upgrades

Currently underway, this project upgrades the ADA ramps on SR 201, SR 202, and 835 within the Riverside city limits.

Estimated Time Line: May 2024 thru September 2024

2024 Urban Paving Program

This project includes resurfacing the entire lengths of SRs 201, 202 and 835. ODOT will fund 80% of this project with the City responsible for 20%. Our local share will be funded from the City’s State Highway Account and OPWC grant. Base repairs are currently underway for SR 201, SR 202, and 835 within the Riverside city limits.

Spinning Road Phase 1-Linden Avenue to Eastman Avenue

Curb, gutter, and driveway aprons are complete. Milling and filling occurs on Spinning Road from Linden Avenue to Eastman Avenue followed by any re-striping needed. MVRPC Surface Transportation Program grant is partially funding this project. The local share will be funded from Gas and Motor Vehicle Taxes and OPWC grant/loan.

Spinning Road Phase 2-Eastman Avenue to Burkhardt Avenue

Surveying is underway for this project, which includes milling and filling Spinning Road from Eastman Avenue to Burkhardt Road. Curb and catch basins will be replaced. MVRPC Surface Transportation Program grant is partially funding this project. The local share will be funded from Gas and Motor Vehicle Taxes and OPWC grant.
